Google could launch a ChatGPT competitor next week.
The business has announced a search and artificial intelligence event dubbed "Google presents: Live from Paris," which will take place on February 8 at 8:30 a.m.
"We're rethinking how people search for, discover, and engage with information, making it easier and more natural than ever to find what you're looking for. Join us to learn how we're improving access to information for people all across the world through Search, Maps, and more "According to the event's YouTube description.
While we don't know if Google intends to announce a new product or service during the event, there are hints that it could be the response to OpenAI's rapidly growing artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT. According to a recent New York Times report, Alphabet, Google's parent company, has issued an internal "code red" following the introduction of ChatGPT, citing it as an existential danger to its search business. CNBC reported a few days ago that Google is already developing various new AI technologies, including a chatbot called "Apprentice Bard."
According to The Verge, Google CEO Sundar Pichai made some fascinating statements during the company's earnings call yesterday. He stated that the corporation has great aspirations for AI in the next months and has been planning for it since early last year. Pichai did not reveal what the business plans to introduce, but he did remark that consumers will be able to "interact directly" with its "newest, most powerful language models as a companion to search." The first of them will be Google's AI chatbot LaMDA, which has previously only been available to Google developers and beta testers. https://ejtandemonium.com/
It's also worth noting the time of Google's "Live from Paris" event. According to 9to5Google, the event is styled similarly to Google's annual Search On events, which are conducted in the fall. Google's I/O conference is expected to take place in May, so the company will have plenty of possibilities to announce new products this year. The February event appears out of nowhere, and it's possible that ChatGPT's enormous popularity is forcing Google to act quickly.
Again, none of this proves that Google will release a public product on February 8, but it will be interesting to see what the firm has to say about AI and search in a world where millions of people use OpenAI's chatbot instead of Googling for answers. http://sentrateknikaprima.com/
